Choosing the right system for your business

Which is the best cloud system for my business?

Xero accounting and QuickBooks Online are the market leader, web-based cloud accounting systems known for their features, flexibility, and ease of use. Both are web-based platforms, meaning you can log in and access your account wherever you have internet and each offer a free mobile app for you to manage your accounting on the go, as well as many apps. Wood and Disney are experts in both cloud accounting systems and have helped many clients set up, train and get the most from the packages.

Wood and Disney have experience of using many of these cloud accounting systems. Most of our clients use Xero, QuickBooks or Sage as these are the market leaders in the UK and in our experience are the simplest to set up and operate, offer the best support and integrate with a growing number of apps that can be of real benefit to your business. We have also partnered with Nat West and RBS to offer FreeAgent to our clients, as an alternative, particularly suited to clients with simple bookkeeping requirements as we see this system as offering a low-cost option that still meets their bookkeeping needs.

Which system is best for my business?

That's largely a matter of opinion. All are excellent cloud accounting systems which will revolutionise the way you run your business. They offer the same basic tools and facilities and different subscription levels which add additional services. They each have slightly different strengths the relative importance of which differs depending on the type of business you run and your needs. Wood and Disney are expert in QuickBooks, Xero and Sage, with the certifications to prove it.

What about other cloud accounting systems like FreeAgent?

Yes, there are several other cloud accounting systems on the market including Kashflow, Zoho, Bokio, Wave. There are also a number of low-cost cloud bookkeeping services particularly suited to start-up and small businesses with relatively few transactions. Some of these systems are linked to banks, such as FreeAgent which is offered by Nat West to its small business customers.
